I’ve got lots to share with you today.

You’ve just joined a company or a marketing system and you are raring to gets those leads and sales.

You have been told numerous times to go to the getting started section (or whatever it is called in your case) and do what it says. Your sponsor has told you not to skip ahead.

But, of course, you know better. Why take the advice of someone who is more experienced than you?

Just Stop It!

You don’t know more than your sponsor about this new system or opportunity.

Make their life and your life simpler by doing the training in order without skipping.

If You Choose to Not Listen to Your Sponsor

Then, don’t go complaining, whining or asking for help. They gave you the help and you chose to not do as he or she said.

Network Marketing Success tips

1) Follow the training you were given.

2) Look for the answer yourself before contacting your sponsor. Google is your best friend.

Then, when you have completed all training or truly couldn’t find the answer to your question, your sponsor should be glad to help you out. If not, go upline until you find someone who is.

I know I may  sound mean, but if you were your sponsor, you’d probably agree with me.

This past Saturday, I attended my second vending show with the Home Based Business Chamber of Commerce, Delmarva Chapter. The theme for this show was “New Year, New You”.

Some of you who know that I am in Numis Network may be asking why I went to this type of show.

Why You Should Take Your MLM Business on the Road

I went to this show and you should go to these types of shows for one main purpose: Offline Business Networking. I met a lot of small business owners. Some were in network marketing and some weren’t.

Limiting Your Networking to Only Network Marketers is Wrong

Yes, I met a lot of network marketers, but I also met a lot of home based small business owners. These people are artists, jewelry makers, etc.

When you network with small business owners, keep in mind they already understand why someone would build a business. So they may be future business builders. Or they know others who would.

Also, something you sell may help their business. Greeting Cards is one product that small businesses may find useful in their business.

Why You Should Spend Time Networking with Small Business Owners

You never know who they know. Networking with them expands your circle of influence. When someone says they need a product you sell or want to build a business in your niche, the small business owner may very well refer them to you.

So you may not get immediate results, but if you’re in the business for the long-term this is a great strategy to increase your circle of influence.

Facebook Marketing can be a wonderful way of getting leads. Unfortunately, the last few days have reminded me that a lot of people think they know how to market on Facebook. They don’t. First let’s look at Facebook Marketing etiquette.

Facebook Marketing Etiquette

1) Always message people when you friend them. You may think they know you, but what if they have forgotten you. Also, if you are a guy, please say why you want to be friends. You wouldn’t believe the number of men that will friend married women and hit on them. So if a lady asks how you know them, don’t be offended. They are just tired of the jerks.

2) Always message people when you friend them. Yes, it’s that important.

3) Do not put your opportunity or affiliate links on someone else’s wall. Great way to tick someone off and have them block you.

4) Leave out links in your let’s be friend message. Great way to not get friended.

5) Remember Facebook is like a party. Would you like it if someone at a party walked up to you and told you to join their MLM? And if you would, don’t do it to someone else. It’s weird and you give MLM a bad name.

How To Do Facebook Marketing

Develop Relationships.

You know get to know people. If an opportunity presents itself, ask the person if they would like info. Don’t give them a link! It turns people off. Ask if they’d like one.

Help people out. If someone has a question you can answer, answer it.

Join Groups, but please don’t just put opportunity or affiliate links in them. Share content. When you just stick your link on a post, most people ignore it.

You’re starting a business from home and your wondering how to get started. Well, I’m going to tell you.

1) Realize that starting a business from home takes hard work. Yes, I know I said a four letter word…work.

2) Meet with your spouse and children. Share with them what you will be doing and why they won’t be seeing as much of you as they had been. It’s really hard to do this business without having your family on board. Set office hours and mean it. No exceptions.

3) Get your tools. Such as, CDs, Brochures, webinar and call schedules, phone numbers for conference calls, upline numbers for three-way calls, presentation videos,  paper and pen, and a space to work.

4) Don’t let fear get in the way. Talk to people.

5) Practice what you will say on the phone, in person, etc. Use scripts like Todd Falcone’s Little Black Book of Scripts (yes, this is an affiliate link)

6) Leverage your upline and tell them your goals. Listen to how your upline does presentations and answers questions. If your sponsor stinks, keep going up until you find someone that will work with you.

7) Get a list of people to talk to. Whoever they are. Warm market, church, buy leads, etc. Ask everyone for referrals.

8 ) Work as if you are going on  a vacation to a foreign country.

9) Talk less to more people (Todd Falcone)

10) Your only job is prospecting, presenting, and closing during prime time hours. Writing articles, shooting videos, working on your blog are best done when your prospects are not available.

11) When you sponsor a new person you have a responsibility to them. Get them started now. Lead by example, and you set the pace.

12) Spend a least 15 minutes on personal development and 30 minutes on marketing training daily.

13) Do not assume anyone knows anything.

14) Get introduced to your leaders and introduce your new people to them.

15) Get a journal and write why you want to be a massive success and why you are going to take such massive action. Write down your goals and do what it takes to get it going.

Every year, we set out our goals and resolutions. We go gung-ho for a while and then we give up. Would you like to know how changing a habit can explode your business?

Changing A Habit

For most people it takes about 22 days to build a new habit. If you are like me and you are not born organized, well it will probably take closer to 28 days.

So, pick one new habit (maybe two) to start out with.

I know, you’re saying, “but I want to do it all, now!” Well, how is that working out for you so far? Probably not well.

So pick that one habit. Do it every single day (yes, even weekends).

Maybe it’s make phone calls. Do it every day and do not add another habit until you do this one without thinking.

It will take a while to build up your habits one at a time, but if you’ve not built them before what do you have to lose?

Here we are the first day of the new year. Today people all over will make a lot of resolutions that they probably won’t keep past the first week or two. Some won’t make it that long.

I don’t do resolutions. They don’t mean anything.

I do have a set of goals for 2012. I’m going to share them with you and this time next year, I’ll let you know how I did. The good and the bad. So here they are for 2012.

2012 Goals

1) Do my marketing to do list every single day.

2) Reach 3 star in my company

3) To be asked to speak publicly at an event.

4) To help 10 moms (or dads) start a legacy for their children

5) Reduce soda intake

6) Go to YMCA at least twice weekly

7) Eat a healthier lunch and breakfast

Acquire new house keeping habits (I’m not really good at that)

What about my 2011 goals?

Well, I didn’t have any. But I did double the income from my education business.

This year will be amazing. I don’t have any other choice. I believe the economy will only get worse so I need to acquire my own economy.

Those moms (and dads) need me to help them build their economy and their legacy.

This is the last Network Marketing Success Tips of the year. In this final installment you’ll learn about Communicate and Close.

Network Marketing Success Tips: Communicate

You’ll use that autoresponder you learned about in the previous post to communicate with your list.

It is essential to communicate with your list. If you don’t, they will forget who you are. They may report your email as spam, too. (Yes, I know you, you know you can unsubscribe, but for some reason not everyone does.)

Why Else Is It Important to Communicate?

When you buy something, don’t you need to feel comfortable with whoever you’re buying from?

Let me give you an example. There is a gas station in town that is always cheaper than most other places. I don’t buy my gas there for one reason. I’ve never heard of the company. I’ll spend a few cents more where I have heard of the company.

So, if you give your list good value, they will buy from you.

Another example, if I want to buy something for my business, I always check with my mentor to see if she’s selling it. Why? I trust her opinion. She’ll tell me not to buy it if she thinks I don’t need it and if I need help with it, I know she’ll help me. I like, know and trust her.

So communicate to your list and give good value. Don’t just sell.

Network Marketing Success Tips: Close

I’ll admit it. I don’t like to close. So I don’t.

I let my communication and my content pre-sell what I’m offering and then I let someone else do the closing. For example, I send my primary company prospects to a presentation and when I need to talk with them I have someone from the leadership in my company talk with them. If it’s an affiliate product, I let the product’s owners sell it in a video or a letter.

So, you now these network marketing success tips: collect, capture, communicate, and close.
